Matawalle Deserves Some Accolades For His Support For The Media Industry

The Honourable Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, former Governor of Zamfara State and distinguished Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Media Nite-Out Awards (NMNA), has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to national development and the growth of the Nigerian media industry.

For years, Dr. Matawalle has played a pivotal role in the success of the NMNA Awards, lending his influence, vision, and leadership to an initiative that has become a beacon of excellence in the Nigerian media space. His consistent support has not only elevated the prestige of the awards but has also reinforced the critical role of the media in shaping public opinion and strengthening democracy.

At the forthcoming 19th Edition of the Nigerian Media Nite-Out Awards (NMNA), scheduled to hold on Sunday, November 26th, 2025, at B Event Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, the Guest Speaker will be Hon. Yazeed Shehu Danfulani, Managing Director/CEO of the Nigeria Agriculture Insurance Corporation (NAIC). He will deliver a keynote address on the theme: “Safeguarding the Harvest: Unveiling the Role of Agricultural Insurance in Nigeria’s Food Security.”

In his special remarks, Dr. Matawalle described the media as “the first estate of the realm,” emphasizing its unique responsibility as the voice of the people and a bridge between leaders and citizens. He commended journalists and media professionals for their sacrifices, resilience, and dedication to informing, educating, and enlightening the nation despite the challenges they face.

Looking ahead, the Honourable Minister pledged his continuous and unrelenting support to the media industry, assuring stakeholders that he would stand firmly behind initiatives that promote press freedom, professionalism, and capacity development within the sector. According to him, a vibrant and responsible media remains indispensable to the growth of Nigeria’s democracy, good governance, and national unity.

Observers have continued to describe Dr. Matawalle as an outstanding political leader whose passion for human development transcends politics. From his time as Governor of Zamfara State to his current national assignment, he has consistently championed initiatives that uplift communities, empower institutions, and support nation-building.

Nigeria Media Nite-Out Governing Board, Approves Hosting of 17th Award Edition

  The Nigeria Media Nite-Out Governing Board, has approved the hosting of this year's award edition in Lagos, Nigeria. Popularly known as the Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award, NMNA, this year's award ceremony, will be the 17th edition, since inception in 2006.
