TECNO FOUNDATION Bags "Hero Of The Pandemic Diamond Award

Foremost brand TECNO FOUNDATION, has bagged the 'Hero of the Pandemic Diamond Award of Excellence' at the 15th edition of the nations premier media promotions and reward platform, the Nigerian Media Nite-Out Award  (NMNA).

The event is billed for 19th September 2021 at the vintage but iconic Ikeja Airport hotel main auditorium Ikeja,  Lagos.

Tecno Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Tecno mobile provided Nigeria through NCDC with massive multimillion naira worth of medical intervention supplies at the height of the country's first wave of pandemic attack  in 2020. It consisted of Ppe's, ventilators, test kits etc. This huge consignment was described  as head-turning, heart pumping and timely.

We are surely living in historic times aswell as making new history. The times are so redolent of the terrors of the dim past when man was still basic.  Like the biblical plaques of ancient Egypt,  bubonic plaques of Asia,  Megido plaque, diphtheria, typhus, black death  etc. They almost eliminated humanity.

Into this 'darkest hall of infamy' enters the novel coronavirus with global impact in the modern era. Covid-19, a grand medical thunderstorm has changed the world forever. With lifestyle altering effect and irreversible consequences. All hands needed to be on deck . Tecno Foundation answered this critical call for Nigeria.

Though our award was designed to promote and reward excellence in media practice, giving the grand impact and seismic disruption of the pandemic on the world at large and the nation in particular our board decided to create a special category in this edition to recognise and celebrate impactfull responses from public and private sector players and  organisations respectively.

Only a handful of outfits met the very steep  performance criteria for this award - Tecno Foundation is one. We therefore  celebrate and commend the global and local leadership of this largehearted company. They are true hero's of the pandemic

At the hand over ceremony of this massive consignment of medical supplies to NCDC in 2020, Messrs Chidi Nwankwo & Attai Oguche top guns at Tecno mobile Nigeria, they appreciated the passion, patronage and support for Tecno mobile by Nigerians which  has made Tecno the prefered brand in the country.

They reiterated the company's resolve to remain  true partners always as demonstrated by this intervention. It is worthy of note that these medical supplies were airfreighted by special chartered flight arrangement to give the Nigerian government additional amunition in the grim battle against Covid-19.

The NMNA board in particular and Nigerians in general heartily commend and celebrate Tecno Mobile/Foundation. We declare them worthy heroes indeed. The event is strictly by invitation and  would be Covid-19 protocol compliant.
