LAGOS – All is set for the 2021 edition of the Nigeria Media Nite Out Award (NMNA) in which the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, among others, would be honoured.
Sanwo-Olu scored another fist in an opinion poll which rated his effectiveness in the provision of infrastructure and dividends of democracy to the people of Lagos and Nigeria at large.
In recognition of his exemplary leadership and contribution to the media industry, the Sanwo-Olu would be conferred with the award of Media “BEST INFRASTRUCTURE GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR” during this year’s Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award (NMNA).

Others to be honored at the 15th edition of the event along with Sanwo-Olu are Kogi State Governor, Yahayah Bello; his Zamfara, Osun, Cross Rivers, Kano states’ counterparts, Bello Matawalle, Gboyega Oyetola, Ben Ayade and Abdullahi Ganduje respectively.
Former Zamfara State governor, Sani Yerima, and a host of other prominent Nigerians would also be honoured.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, the Director of Media and Publicity for NMNA, Mr. Ajibade Alabi, stated that the governors, particularly the Lagos State governor, would also use the medium to address the press on his developmental strategies and achievements in the last two years.
Alabi, who disclosed that the 15th edition of the award would be held on 19th September in Lagos, stated that the awardees were picked due to their dexterity and dedication as well as their outstanding contributions to their various fields.
He said the award was initially programmed towards July in Zamfara State, since Lagos has been the host since inception.
“We intend to go with the winners and some selected top Journalists and Editors to tour Zamfara State as well as to inspect the state government’s projects but this was canceled due to the security challenges in the country.
“Despite the new development, the glitz, glamour, and paparazzi that the award is associated with will not be taken away,” he said.
The Nigeria Media Nite-Out Governing Board, has approved the hosting of this year's award edition in Lagos, Nigeria. Popularly known as the Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award, NMNA, this year's award ceremony, will be the 17th edition, since inception in 2006. With the approval received from the Chairman of the Governing Board, the Convener of the award, Mr Sola Olugbemiro, said that, all hands will be on deck beginning next week, to ensure that the hosting of this year's award in October, supercedes the grandeur of year's that has passed by.
