The 12th edition of the Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards, held on Sunday 23rd September 2018. It was a very rainy Sunday in the Bevents Ikeja Airport Hotel venue of the awards, but the rains didn’t stop the guests from coming in their numbers. The awards started by 3pm prompt, with the rendition of the national anthem, and then followed the formal introductions of the MCs actor Ifeanyi Dike, and his co-anchor Roseline Ajose from England. Some Diaspora entertainers, Funmi Awonlon, Sophia a musician, also came for the award night.
The Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle , has called for the extension of the retirement age of personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to 70 years. Matawalle regretted that despite several measures his administration has taken to end banditry, the situation has persisted.“We started a dialogue with the bandits, we closed markets and sales of petroleum and also, shutdown telecommunication networks, but all these never worked,” he lamented. Speaking earlier, the leader of the coalition of civil societies in the state, Adamu Kwatarkwashi, said they were in Maradun town, to express their support for the security policies introduced by the state government.Kindly share this story:All rights reserved.
