NIGERIA MEDIA NITE OUT 2018, A CELEBRATION OF MEDIA EXCELLENCE

The 12th edition of the Nigeria Media Nite Out Awards, held on Sunday 23rd September 2018. It was a very rainy Sunday in the Bevents Ikeja Airport Hotel venue of the awards, but the rains didn’t stop the guests from coming in their numbers. The awards started by 3pm prompt, with the rendition of the national anthem, and then followed the formal introductions of the MCs actor Ifeanyi Dike, and his co-anchor Roseline Ajose from England. Some Diaspora entertainers, Funmi Awonlon, Sophia a musician, also came for the award night.

Matawalle wants security agents to retire at 70.

The Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle , has called for the extension of the retirement age of personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to 70 years. Matawalle regretted that despite several measures his administration has taken to end banditry, the situation has persisted.“We started a dialogue with the bandits, we closed markets and sales of petroleum and also, shutdown telecommunication networks, but all these never worked,” he lamented. Nigeria Media Nite-Out Governing Board, Approves Hosting of 17th Award Edition

The Nigeria Media Nite-Out Governing Board, has approved the hosting of this year's award edition in Lagos, Nigeria. Popularly known as the Nigeria Media Nite-Out Award, NMNA, this year's award ceremony, will be the 17th edition, since inception in 2006. With the approval received from the Chairman of the Governing Board, the Convener of the award, Mr Sola Olugbemiro, said that, all hands will be on deck beginning next week, to ensure that the hosting of this year's award in October, supercedes the grandeur of year's that has passed by. The 18th edition of the prestigious annual Nigeria Media Nite Out Award 2024 took place on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, with great fanfare and enthusiasm, as awardees received individual and organizational honors.
